Pausing for a moment and taking time to think about life is incredibly helpful in gaining a sense of who you are, who you would like to be, and how to become that person. Self reflection is a powerful tool we can use to understand our emotions, strengths, weaknesses, and traumas. Five things I've learned through self reflection are as follows : Emotional Self-Awareness, Self-Reliance, Empathy, Productivity, and improved Decision Making.

Emotional Self-Awareness or Emotional Intelligence is the ability to understand one's emotions and how they impact their actions. It gives an individual a sense of how others see them, as well as how they see themselves -and aligns both perspectives with reality. An individual who masters the principle of self-awareness will be more likely to understand their values, sense of purpose, and have clarity when making decisions.
